    FIND BOOKS, VIDEOS, AND OTHER LIBRARY MATERIALS
    The UM system libraries offer a wealth of business related resources, including current books, journals, newspapers, videos, software, company reports, and business directories. To locate library resources:

  • Go to the library web site and click on Library Catalog
  • No username or password necessary.
  • Search for books, videos, or other materials in the UM system libraries.

    FIND ARTICLES IN JOURNALS, NEWSPAPERS, OR DOCUMENTS

    Go to the library web site and click on "Find an article from a database."

    You may enter and scroll down the A-Z list of all library databases, or select the subject "Business and Technology".

    When you click on any one of the databases, you will be asked to enter a username and password.  These are the same username and password that you use for entering the campus network (first initial_last name, social or other campus i.d. number).

  • Business and Company ASAP gives full-text and citations/abstracts to business journal articles, along with Company Profiles and related articles.
  • Business and Company Resource Center includes Company and Industry information, as well as full-text journal articles.
  • Computer Database provides full-text computer industry journals from the Gale Group Infotrac databases.
  • EBSCO Business Source Premier gives full-text and citations/abstracts to business journal articles, along with updated Company Profiles from Datamonitor.com.
  • Emerald Library (click on the orange "Full Text" tab)
  •  includes full-text business journal articles.

  • New York Times Online
  •  is one of the world's leading newspapers. Retrieve full-text articles from current and historical papers.

  • JSTOR provides historical information from journals in business, economics, and related topics.
  • Wilson Web Databases (choose the Subject Area, "Business") includes full-text business and technology journal articles.
  • Wall Street Journal is NOT online, but IS available in print, in the library, current and past three months

    FIND A JOURNAL ARTICLE FOR WHICH YOU ALREADY HAVE A CITATION

  • Go to the library web site and click on  Article Linker  to search for journal titles in multiple periodical databases at once. After locating your journal, click on "Search for Article" to enter the article title, author, volume number, etc. Click on the "Article" link.

    GOVERNMENT INFORMATION
  • GPO is a searchable database of publications from the U.S. Government Printing Office. In FirstSearch, select GPO and search your topic. Watch for full-text links to government web sites.
  • Visit the official web portal for the State of Montana,  Discovering Montana to search for any Montana government information related to business, including the MT Dept. of Labor & Industry and MT Dept. of Commerce web sites.

  • See the Montana State Commerce Department's  Census and Economic Information Center for Census data relevant to Montana.  This site is considered one of the best of its kind in the nation.

  • Adobe Online Training
  •  provides selected free sample online tutorials with additional instruction beginning at $49/course.
  • Electric Teacher offers free short tutorials for teachers on FrontPage, Word, PowerPoint, PhotoDraw, and additional links.

    FIND COURSE RESERVES MATERIALS

    Select one of three options for searching and using Course Reserves:

  • Go to the library web site and click on Library Catalog .
  • Click on  Course Reserves  to search for books, videos, or other materials that your instructor has put on reserve for your class.
  • Retrieve reserved materials at the  Circulation Desk .
  • Go to the library web site and click on  E-Res  , then "Electronic Reserves and Course Materials" . Next,  select your instructor's name .
  • The default  password for E-Res  is your instructor's last name in lower case letters. Ask your instructor if there are reserves on E-Res.
  • E-Res articles open in Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available on all campus computers.
  • Go to the library Circulation Desk and ask  for the reserves under the instructor name and course.

  • Go to the library web site and sign up for the  ILLiad  online request and loan service.
  • If off-campus, go to your local college, school, or public library and ask for interlibrary loan assistance.
