Rodeo
Iola "Olie" Else begins another season as Western's Rodeo Club advisor and head coach. A native of Idaho, she is a 1969 graduate of Tendoy High School and a 1973 graduate of Western. She received her Master's of Education from The University of Montana in 1992. Olie is more than a coach; she is the heart and soul of Western rodeo and is well known and respected on a local, regional and national level. All you have to do is take a trip to the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming or a National Finals Performance in Las Vegas. There isn't too many rodeo fans or participants who don't know Olie! She is truly the ambassador for the sport of rodeo. She has definitely put Western Rodeo on the map! Her respect as a coach was proven at the 2004 CNFR when her peers in College Rodeo selected her as N.I.R.A. National Coach of the Year. Olie is the mother of Kayla, a Western graduate who is currently a veterinarian; Tad, a former rodeo team member; and Tate, a current member of the Bulldog rodeo team. Olie is also a business instructor at Western.
