Athletics are an integrated part of campus life at The University of Montana Western. Over 30 percent of our student body are involved in Bulldog athletics either as players, student assistant coaches, managers or trainers.
Montana Western is a charter member of the Frontier Conference which includes: Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho), Carroll College, Montana Tech, MSU-Northern, Rocky Mountain College, Westminster College (Salt Lake City), and the University of Great Falls. Montana Western is also affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA).
Montana Western offers varsity sports for both men and women. The Lady Bulldogs compete in basketball (varsity and JV), volleyball, golf, Equestrian and rodeo. The 'Dawgs' field squads in football, basketball (varsity and JV), golf and rodeo. Our athletes learn valuable lessons that they can carry into their professional endeavors.
