Description

The Director of eLearning and Academic Technology will work with the Provost and faculty to promote and support use of academic technologies for instructional use.  Candidate must have a passion for emerging educational technologies and a demonstrated ability to work with faculty for successful technology adoption.  The position reports directly to the Provost and collaborates with the School of Outreach Dean, Information Technology Services Director, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

The Director of eLearning and Academic Technology is responsible for the research, recommendation, development, implementation and management of emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning.  This also provides primary vision, management, training, support, and maintenance of the online learning management system (Moodle). 

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, education or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Administrative experience supporting an enterprise learning management system

  • Ability to develop and express strategic vision for online teaching and learning

  • In-depth knowledge of instructional and universal design strategies

  • Online teaching experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated adoption of emerging academic technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally with students, faculty and staff

  • Experience delivering academic or professional training

  • Experience supporting evaluation and assessment processes (courses and programs)
