Third annual research symposium features Dan Gretch

Montana Western students will present research at the symposium April 17 and 18 beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday in the Great Room. The symposium will feature a keynote address from Carroll College professor Dan Gretch.

The third annual Campus Research Symposium is Friday and Saturday, April 17 and April  18 beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday  in the Great Room of the Swysgood Technology Center. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The symposium will highlight student research for senior theses, internships and special class projects. Poster displays will be open for viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday followed by a keynote address by Dan Gretch. Gretch,  professor of biochemistry at Carroll College, will his presentation entitled, “From The Laughing Death to Mad Cows and Wasted Deer: The Wrath of a Rogue Protein.” Gretch will discuss prion diseases and specifically chronic wasting disease. A reception will follow the keynote presentation. On Saturday, the symposium continues with oral student presentations from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a poster session from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The symposium concludes with student oral presentations from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
