UMW NEWS BUREAU Amberly Pahut, executive director of the University of Montana Western Foundation and director of university development and alumni affairs, will be leaving her position at Montana Western to serve as senior development officer at the Billings Clinic beginning July 1, 2011. “This institution and foundation are incredibly important to me,” Pahut said. “It has been a true honor to have worked on behalf of the donors who support Montana Western, to have been an active member in the Dillon community and to have had the opportunity to meet and interact with our amazing alumni. I sincerely thank them all for their support and look forward to staying active as an alumna.” Pahut graduated from Montana Western with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and tourism in 2000. She went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration with a specialty in non profit management from Walden University in 2007. She began working for the Montana Western Foundation in July 2004 as the events and promotion coordinator. She became the executive director in May 2007. Montana Western Chancellor Richard Storey said Pahut’s contributions to the university and foundation have been significant. “In just four years Amberly has made amazing strides for this institution both in terms of fundraising as well as in energizing and engaging our local and alumni communities,” Storey said. “We will miss her hard work and her positive, optimistic spirit on this campus, but we wish her nothing but the best in her exciting new endeavor.” The University of Montana Western and the Montana Western Foundation have formed a search committee and are pursuing a national search to fill Pahut’s vacancy.
