Hotdawg WebMail Help
Q: How do I enable and disable a vacation message? A: Login to Hotdawg. Click Preferences in the lower left corner. Your Preferences will appear to the right. Scroll to the bottom of the Preferences and you will see "Vacation Message". Check the Enable box and then type your vacation message. Be sure to click the SAVE button under the Bulldog Logo at the top.
To disable the vacation message: Repeat the steps above except this time uncheck the box next to "Vacation Message". Be sure to click the SAVE button again.
Q: How do I make Hotdawg Webmail my default email program? (Windows 2000 and XP only) ** You must be logged into a campus computer for this to work. **
A: Your default email program is what will open when you click on some "Contact Us" links which launch your email program.
Q: How do I get rid of the message preview when I just want to delete the message without viewing it? A: Log in to Hotdawg. Click on Preferences in the lower left corner. Near the top of the Preferences page you will see a checkbox next to "Show Message Preview Pane". Uncheck this box and then click on the Save button at the top of the page under the picture of the bulldog.
Q: How do I delete multiple messages if I don't have the checkboxes next to the messages anymore? A: If you want to select multiple messages to delete, just hold the COMMAND key (Mac) or CTRL key (PC) down while you click on each message and it should highlight each of them. When finished selecting, release the COMMAND or CTRL key and click delete above the message list.
A: If you want to empty a folder like the "Deleted" folder in Hotdawg, first click on the "Deleted" Folder to bring it up. Now, just under the image of the bulldog at the top you should see the word "Deleted" with some numbers next to it. Follow this bar all the way to the right and you will see the "Empty the Deleted Folder" button. Click this button to empty your "Deleted" folder.
A: First, login to hotdawg. Next, click on [Contacts] at the lower left corner of the window. Click the [New] button under the bulldog. Type in the contact information (Contacts are organized alphabetically by last name). Click [Save and Close] under the bulldog.
Q: How do I call up a contact when creating a new message? A: Login to hotdawg, click the [New] button under the bulldog. To bring up a contact from your Contacts, click on the [To...] button located under the [Send] button on your new message.
Q: What Internet browsers can I use? A: Hotdawg Webmail works best with Internet Explorer or Firefox.
