Hello and welcome to my bio. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) in Printmaking. While studying at CIA, I worked as a work-study student in the Office of Admissions. I served as a tour guide, an office assistant, and a mentor. As the years passed I realized that while I was a competent artist, I was an exceptional budding administrator. Upon graduation I received an internship in the Admissions office and in that year was hired on full time. Within 6 years I was made the director of admissions. During my 16 years at CIA, I worked with hundreds of families and traveled thousands of miles throughout the US and several foreign countries. Advising students and their families as they work toward making one of the most important choices in life is what I look forward to each day. After spending my entire life in the Midwest, I decided it was time for a change; and so I find myself in Dillon, Montana. The University of Montana Western is an exceptional school in a breathtaking location with a remarkable approach to education. Experience One is, hands down, the most innovative approach to undergraduate education and Montana Western is the only public university offering block scheduling. I have found my second home in Dillon at the University of Montana Western; should you choose Montana Western, I believe you too will quickly feel at home. The admission's staff and I look forward to working with you as you apply to Montana Western.

Janet Jones Admissions Evaluator 1-406-683-7331 1-877-683-7331 j_jones@umwestern.edu |
I’ve been in Montana since 1979 and am proud to call Dillon my home! I attended Montana Western back when it was Western Montana College and I majored in Business. After college I began working in the Admissions Office at Western and then married a local boy and my high school sweetheart in 1989. Montana Western is an awesome place! As I transitioned from student to employee, I found Western to be my second home. The campus community is very close and genuinely cares about the success of students and colleagues. As an Admissions Evaluator, I review and process all incoming applications. In my 18+ years, I’ve been involved with many state organizations including 6 years on the Board of Directors of MPSEOC, where we established a great website for Montana Colleges and Universities. I enjoy the outdoors, sports and I’m the “Scrapbook Queen” of my family. I love spending time with my husband, 5-year-old daughter and 20 month old son!

Hey O! I was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska. I decided to attend college in Montana for many reasons but for the most part I needed to experience something different. Dillon had everything special I remember from growing up in Alaska but was not Alaska. I've even picked up some new "habits" in Montana, Elk and Deer hunting. During my time as a student at Montana Western I played football (receiver) and worked in just about every building on campus as a student worker. I received my Bachelor of Science in Business with an Administration Option. Today, as a professional at Montana Western I hope I can help you explore your future with us and all the rich experiences this University can provide for you.
