Description of Funds

RESTRICTED Endowment Fund:  Most of our endowment funds are restricted. Some of the restricted funds are for programs: Chinook, Alumni, Rodeo, Library, English. Most are for scholarships. The donor has developed specific requirements for the awards. Only the annual interest is awarded. Minimum principal of $5000. Annual Gift Donor specifies the use of the annual gift. Donors support scholarships, programs and activities.

UNRESTRICTED Endowment Fund:   Five endowment funds have been created without restrictions: Presidents Fund; Centennial Account; Hirsch; Loretta Jarussi Estate and the WMC Unrestricted. The annual interest from these funds are transferred into the Foundation’s operating budget. The Hirsch and Jarussi gifts were not given as a permanent endowment and can be used for other purposes. Annual Gift Donor does not specify the use of the gift. Many state “greatest need”. Typically these gifts are used for Foundation operating which includes scholarships, faculty development and operating costs.
