The University of Montana Western men’s and women’s rodeo teams traveled to Missoula, Mont. for the University of Montana rodeo on Friday, May 10 through Saturday, May 12 for the final rodeo of the regular season.

The men came away with a second-place finish (590 points) behind Montana State University (785 points) while the women took home gold with 335 points. The win also propelled the women’s team into first place in the Big Sky Region standings.
On March 23 and 24, the individual qualifying members of the University of Montana Western equestrian team traveled to Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky. to compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Semifinals.

Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson released the 2012-13 Academic All-Conference Men’s Basketball team on Saturday, March 23. Westminster College led the conference with 11 players selected followed by Montana Western, Montana Tech and the University of Great Falls with five apiece.
University of Montana Western men’s basketball standout Jake Oswley helped lead his team to a 24-10 record and the team’s best finish in school history with an appearance in the Elite Eight at the 2013 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournament. Since returning home, the junior was honored as an NAIA Second Team All-America pick.
