Bulldogs win overtime thriller

The University of Montana Western men’s basketball team pulled off a thrilling overtime win in their first round match-up in the 2013 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I National Tournament. The Bulldogs overcame an early deficit to take out the Philander Smith Panthers (Little Rock, Ark.) 99-94.

Bulldogs in NAIA tourney for fourth year in a row

Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson announced the 2012-13 all-conference men’s basketball team as well as individual award winners on Wednesday, March 6 after balloting by the league’s coaches. Later that day, the University of Montana Western found out they will be heading to Kansas City, Mo. for the national tournament.

Montana Western to add cross country in 2015

The University of Montana Western Athletics Department announced it will add Frontier Conference and National Intercollegiate Athletics Association (NAIA) competitive cross country teams starting in fall 2015.

Bulldogs oust Northern, host Frontier Championship

The University of Montana Western men’s basketball team hosted the third-seeded Montana State University-Northern Lights on Saturday, March 2. The Bulldogs held on for the 68-59 semi-final victory and earned the rights to host tonight’s Frontier Conference Championship.

Equestrian wins region in Missoula

The University of Montana Western equestrian team traveled to Missoula, Mont. on March 2 and 3, 2013 to compete in two English horse shows and the Regional English show hosted by the University of Montana.

Women's basketball loses in Salt Lake City

The University of Montana Western women’s basketball team traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah to play the Westminster Griffins in a semi-finals game on Friday, March 1. The Griffins, who are currently the number three team in the nation and the number one seed in conference play, went into the game with a 14-1 conference record with their only loss coming from Carroll College.

UMW host MSU-Northern in conference semifinals

The University of Montana Western men’s basketball team rode a five-game win streak into the postseason, earning the second seed and a bye in the first round of the Frontier Conference Basketball Tournament. The Montana Western Bulldogs now will face Montana State University-Northern on Saturday, March 2 at 7 p.m. in the Straugh Gymnasium the UMW campus.
