University of Montana Western senior student-athlete, Brian Labbe, was awarded on Thursday with an NAIA Live 5 High 5 award. The NAIA Champions of Character Live 5 represent five core values in individuals that possess high personal character. The core values as stated by the NAIA include responsibility, respect, integrity, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
The Montana Western football team has been going through spring practices for the past two weeks. This past Saturday they held their first spring scrimmage, which was also roughly the halfway point. The scrimmage gave the coaching staff an opportunity to evaluate and look at how the players would respond in “live” situations.

Griffiths has announced that Missoula, Mont., senior Krista Hunton has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to attend college at Montana Western and play volleyball.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the scholar athletes for 2013-14. The Daktronics-NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete teams have been released and Montana Western's Sammi Bignell, Jenna Banks, and McCall Hasquet have earned this recognition.

The NAIA announced the 75 student-athletes who have been selected to the Division I men’s basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete teams. Montana Western senior forward Tyler Miller was one of the players who have earned this honor with his work in the classroom.
The Frontier Conference announced the 2013-14 academic all-conference team and the Montana Western men’s basketball team had five players who have earned these honors through their work in the classroom. The Bulldog honorees include Gabe Rucker, Maazin Butler, Tyler Miller, Jordan Overstreet, and Zach Smith.
The University of Montana Western women’s basketball team has placed eight players on the academic all-conference team for 2013-14. The women who have earned this honor are Sammi Bignell, Roxy Thurman, Jenna Banks, Kelsey Callaghan, McCall Hasquet, Taylor Kanthack, Kaci Matthies, and Baylie Smith.

Coach Robertson has signed Glasgow, Mont., senior Tyler Wesen, Marble Falls, Texas senior Jason Lenoir, and Twin Falls, Idaho senior Wyatt Doyle to Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent.
University of Montana Western head football coach B.J. Robertson announced the signing of three Hamilton, Mont., seniors to Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent to play football for the Bulldogs. The signings include Mont., Southwest A offensive most valuable player (MVP) Josh Bauder, all-state receiver Teague Blome, and first team all-conference linebacker Matthew Turley.
The University of Montana Western men’s basketball team had two players honored by the Frontier Conference and named as all-conference performers. The players selected as second team all-conference players were seniors Maazin Butler and Jake Owsley.
