Western Rodeo Has Strong Performance at Montana State Spring Rodeo

 Bozeman, Mont. – The Montana Western rodeo teams were back in action this past weekend at Montana State for two rodeos. After dominating for most of the fall season, the Bulldogs didn’t show any signs of rust after the long winter layoff, winning four individual events in the first rodeo and five individual events in the second rodeo. The women’s team won the second rodeo, and both teams currently sit second in the Big Sky Region.

Nine Bulldogs Selected to the National Football Foundation Honor Society

IRVING, Texas (April 5, 2017) - The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced today the members of the 2017 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.

Bulldog Football to Host Easter Egg Hunt

DILLON, Mont., April 8th, 2017 – The University of Montana Western football team has scheduled it's second spring scrimmage for Saturday, April 15. Following the intra-squad clash, the third annual Bulldog Football Easter Egg Hunt will be held for kids of all ages.

Nine Bulldogs Make Academic All-Conference Team

WHITEFISH, Mont., Apr. 3, 2017 — Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson released the 2016-17 Academic All-Conference Men's and Women’s basketball team today. Two from the men's team and seven from the women's team made the team.

Four Bulldogs Named NAIA All-Americans

Kansas City, Mo. -The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2016-17 Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball All-America Teams on Thursday. Four Bulldogs recieved the Honor: Dom Robinson, Shyke Smalls, Aniese Palmore, and Kaye Bignell.

Bulldogs fall to Dalton State

By Eric Montgomery, NAIA Media CoordinatorKANSAS CITY, Mo. (Box Score) No. 1-seeded Dalton State (Ga.) controlled play in the paint and claimed a 79-60 win in the second round of the 2017 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The Roadrunners advance to the quarterfinal round and will play third-seeded Texas Wesleyan, a 77-75 winner over The Master’s (Calif.), on Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m., CST.

Lady Bulldogs Fall in the Second Round at the Buzzer

Billings, Mont. -  The Montana Western Bulldogs (24-9) lost their second round game of the NAIA Women’s Division 1 National Tournament to Oklahoma City University (31-2) 81-79 as the Stars hit a 16 foot jumper at the buzzer Friday morning.

Montana Western will play No. 1 seed Dalton State (Ga.) in the Liston Bracket Friday at 9:15 p.m. CST in the NAIA National Championship Second Round.

Lady Bulldogs Win First NAIA Tournament Game in 10 Years

Billings Mont. – Playing in the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in 10 years the Montana Western Bulldogs (24-8) rallied for a 63-53 victory over Columbia (Mo.) (26-7) in the opening round of the tournament.

Men's Basketball Earns Individual Postseason Awards

Dillon, Mont., Mar. 8, 2017— Frontier Conference Commissioner Kent Paulson announced the 2016-17 All-Conference Men’s Basketball team, as well as individual award winners today after balloting by the league’s coaches. Dom Robinson, Shyke Smalls, Kooper Kidgell, Zaccheus Darko-Kelly, and head coach Steve Keller were recognized.

Three Lady Bulldogs Named to All-Conference Teams

Havre, Mont. – The No. 20 Montana Western Bulldogs (23-8, 11-7) fell in a close game to the No. 12 MSU-Northern Skylights (23-7, 10-6) 44-42 Friday night in the Armory Gymnasium.
