Billings, Mont. - The University of Montana Western Mens' basketball team took a weekend split to make their overall record 5-2.
Montana Western played the opening game of its weekend by shooting almost 53 percent on Friday night, and that included 63.6 percent in the second half. The University of Montana Western's Jake Owsley recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Bulldogs were able to hold Montana State Billings to 30.3 percent from the field and 25.6 percent from behind the arc.
On Satuday afternoon the UMW men took to the court and played Colorado School of Mines. The Bulldogs shot only 38.2 percent from the field throughout the game. In the second half Montana Western shot 50 percent from the field and went 5-8 from behind the arc for a 62.5 percent shooting mark.
The Bulldogs weekend split brings their record to 5-2 as they prepare for the Wendy's Classic in two weeks.
