The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the scholar athletes for 2013-14. The NAIA announced the 75 student-athletes who have been selected to the Division I men’s basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete teams. Montana Western senior forward Tyler Miller was one of the players who have earned this honor with his work in the classroom.
The qualifications that a student-athlete must maintain are a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status.
Miller is a senior forward from Chandler, Arizona and a graduate of Basha High School. Tyler has been a part of three UMW national tournament teams, highlighted by the elite eight appearance in the 2012-13 season. During his Bulldog career he scored nearly 770 points, and has grabbed 390 rebounds. He scored a career high 23 points on February 16, 2013 versus Carroll College. He is a career 38 percent three-point shooter.
He has been an academic All-American for two years and has a 3.77 cumulative GPA. Tyler will graduate in the spring of 2014 with a degree in Business Administration with a digital media and design option.
