The University of Montana Western head men’s basketball coach, Steve Keller, has announced that Harrison, Mont., native Ryan McCarty has signed and committed to be a Bulldog.
McCarty is a 6’ 2” 170-pound guard who comes to UMW via Miles Community College. He graduated from Harrison High School. He was named to the “Super-State” team and was a three time all-state and all-conference performer during his high school career.
“We are very excited to add Ryan McCarty to our men’s basketball program. Ryan was one of the leading scorers in the state of Montana his senior year,” said Coach Keller. “Ryan had a great year at Miles Community College under coach Chase Tait this past year. Ryan is a pure three-point shooter and is a 90 percent shooter from the free throw line. We look for Ryan to have two great years at Montana Western.”
Off the court Ryan was a member of the National Honors Society and received the Presidential Academic Award all four years during his high school career. He will major in education while attending Montana Western. He is the son of Brian and Terri McCarty.
