The Bulldogs upset No. 16 MSU-Northern in Havre 27-21 for their first victory of the season. By Wally Feldt The Montana Western Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season as they downed the No. 16 MSU-Northern Lights 27-21 in Havre. Sophomore quarterback Michah Mamiya overcame a sore shoulder and two interceptions to pass for 349 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Mamiya's scoring strikes went to Kahai Sevilla for 75 yards, Kekoa Perbera for 14 yards and Craigh Cornelius for 41 yards. Mamiya also hit Reed Watkins for a two-point conversation. Watkins had seven catches for 98 yards followed by Sevilla with three catches for 94 yards Mamiya also rushed for 54 yards followed by Charlie Dotson with 48 yards on 10 carries. Aukkarapong Sribenjakul kicked a 25 yard field goal and Mackenzie Crossley kicked a 54 yard field goal. The Bulldog defense forced six Lights' turnovers; three fumbles and three interceptions by Andy Roberts. The three picks by a single player is one short of the school record. Jake Hayes led the Bulldogs with nine tackles. Montana Western travels to Helena next Saturday to face defending conference champion Carroll College.
