Another successful weekend for UMW equestrian

The University of Montana Western equestrian team competed in Missoula, Mont. at the University of Montana show this past weekend against teams from Montana State University, Carroll College, Rocky Mountain College, Utah State, the College of Southern Idaho and the University of Montana. Kindle McCauley took first in the walk trot on Saturday. Brenna Dwyer placed first and Amber Johnson sixth in the beginning walk trot canter. Shannon Dean placed sixth in the advanced walk trot canter B. Linda Sieverkropp took sixth in the novice A, while Carissa Callison took second in novice C. Kristin Bredl placed third in intermediate. Amanda Gelderman and Amanda Stephenson took second and third, respectively, in open A. Kristen Gfroerer placed fifth in open B. Amanda Gelderman took second in open fences. Amanda Stephenson placed first and Erin Bender second in intermediate fences. Carissa Callison placed sixth in novice fences A and Kristin Bredl took first in novice fences B. Montana Western won High Point Team and Kristin Bredl and Amanda Stephenson tied for Reserve High Point Rider. Gelderman placed third in open fences in the Saturday afternoon show. Bender took third in intermediate fences. Sieverkropp and Callison placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in novice fences A. Bredl took first in novice fences B. Gfroerer placed second in open A, while Gelderman took second in open B. Bredl placed second in intermediate. Callison took first in novice C. Brenda Cole placed sixth in novice B, while Sieverkropp took fourth in novice A. Dean placed sixth in advanced walk trot canter B, while Sarah Tiffany took second in advanced walk trot canter A. Dwyer and Johnson placed second and sixth, respectively, in beginning walk trot canter. McCauley took third in walk trot. Dwyer qualified for regionals in beginning walk trot canter and the Montana Western team won Reserve High Point Team. McCauley took first in walk trot in the Sunday morning completion. Dean placed fifth in advanced walk trot canter. Sieverkropp took first in novice A. Cole placed third in novice B, and Callison placed third in novice C. Bender took fourth in intermediate. Gelderman placed second in open. Callison placed third in novice fences A. Bredl took first in novice fences B. Gfroerer and Bender placed second and fourth, respectively, in intermediate fences. Gelderman took second in open fences. Gfroerer qualified for regionals in intermediate fences and Bredl qualified for regionals in novice fences. The Montana Western team won High Point Team for the Sunday morning rounds. The University of Montana Western equestrian team’s next show will be in Bozeman, Mont. on Dec. 5 and 6 featuring one English and two Western shows.
