UMW NEWS BUREAU The University of Montana Western Multicultural Committee will present a lecture by renowned multicultural education professor Carlos Diaz on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 3:30 p.m. in the Swysgood Technology Center (STC) on the Montana Western campus. Diaz’s lecture is titled “The Significance of Multicultural and Global Literacy.” Diaz is a professor of multicultural and global education at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Over his 24-year career at FAU, Diaz has coauthored or edited four books on multicultural and global education; authored numerous chapters and articles on multicultural and global education; procured grants allowing 300 educators to earn master’s degrees on full fellowship; served as an accreditation consultant to higher education institutions, including Montana Western; and traveled professionally to 90 nations. The Nov. 10 lecture is free and open to the public.
