The Bulldogs trailed by only three, 27-30 at the half. Montana Tech opened the second half with a 10-4 run and led 40-31 after the first five minutes of the second half. The Bulldogs went on their own scoring run and took a 45-44 lead with nine minutes remaining. The lead was short-lived as the Orediggers outscored UMW 22-8 in the game's final minutes. The Bulldogs played one of their better defensive games of the season as they forced 20 Montana Tech turnovers. The offense struggled, however, hitting a chilly 35 percent from the field. Montana Western is idle until Dec. 9 when they travel to Missoula for an exhibition game against the University of Montana.
