UMW News BureauEric Zahler, the Bulldogs' record-breaking kicker, was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-Decade team. By Wally Feldt Eric Zahler, holder of four Montana Western Bulldog records, was named to the Victory Sports Network's National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Football All-Decade Team as a punter. During his career at Montana Western (2001-2004) he was both the punter and place kicker for the Bulldogs. Zahler earned all-conference and all-American honors in both positions. He holds career records for most points scored, most points after touchdowns, most field goals and highest field goal percentage. His career punting average is 42 yards per punt. Zahler currently teaches at Kennedy Elementary school in Butte, Mont. He is also the head girl's soccer coach at Butte High School. Zahler and his wife Geah are both graduates of Montana Western. They are the parents of 20-month old Reece.
