The Bulldogs will play Walla Walla University at 5 p.m. and follow up with a match against Montana Tech at 7 p.m. Montana Western will bring a 1-3 record into the contest against Walla Walla who will see their first action of the season in the tournament’s opening game at 3 p.m. against Montana Tech. Tech also brings a 1-3 record into their game against Walla Walla. The Bulldogs' head coach Lisa Griffiths was pleased with what she saw in the team’s first four games. "Last weekend was a good test to see where we are as a team and we are excited for another chance to compete and see how we measure up," Griffiths said. "The exciting thing is that I feel like we're getting better every day. The team, both returners and freshman, are having to learn a lot in a new system and adapt to a new coach but they have responded well and things are starting to really click. It was great to see a lot of different people provide substantial contributions last weekend. Our depth will be a strength this season as we prepare for a tough Frontier Conference." The Bulldogs will travel on to Billings, Mont. for matches Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26 and 27, at the Rocky Tournament. On Friday, UMW will play Dickinson State University (DSU) at 2 p.m. at the Fortin Center on the campus of Rocky Mountain College (RMC) and at 6 p.m. they will face off against Dakota Wesleyan. On Saturday, the Bulldogs will play their final match of the weekend against Davenport University at 1 p.m. Dickinson State also played in the University of Great Falls/Carroll College Holiday Inn Tournament last weekend as did UMW, but they didn’t play each other. DSU enters the Rocky Tournament with a 0-4 record. Dakota Wesleyan will be playing their first match of the year against Montana Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Davenport will open their season with a match against Carroll College in Helena on Aug. 24 and play again on Friday at 7 p.m. against RMC.
