Campus clubs come together to improve playground

The children of Curious Minds Early Care and Education Center on the UMW campus will be playing on an improved playground after a few of Montana Western's club volunteered their services Tuesday afternoon.

playground2Students from a few of UMW's clubs take a break after painting playground equipment.The UMW Driving Team, the Horsemen Club, and members of both the rodeo and equestrian clubs gave the pre-school's playground equipment and makeover with a fresh coat of paint and new rope for the swings. The student volunteers funded the project and spent a few hours painting and reinstalling pieces of the playground. Driving team advisor Margaret Hebel and head rodeo coach Iola "Olie" Else got their hands dirty alongside their students.

Curious Minds has served Dillon families for decades. Its director and lead teachers are early childhood certified and are assisted by teachers-in-training. The preschool underscores the importance of curiosity, friendship, fun, physical fitness, sound nutrition, collaboration, kindness and all within a warm, homelike environment.
