UMW art students shine at exhibition

The University of Montana Western Art Gallery hosted its annual student art reception Feb. 19.

Tom Foolery served as this year’s juror. Foolery is a Montana artist who specializes in miniature, narrative dioramas that are often playful and laced with satire.

“The 2015 Student Art Exhibition is impressive,” said Glenn Bodish, Montana Western Art Gallery director and UMW fine arts professor. “The talent that is emerging from our student population is phenomenal. Their dedication to their craft has produced thought provoking, dynamic and beautiful works of art. This exhibition reveals the commitment of our students, the success of our faculty and dedication of our staff. I am grateful to be part of the process.”

All art displayed in the exhibition was created by Montana Western students, and Montana Western’s Emerick Foundation awarded $1,300 in prizes to the outstanding students for their achievements.
