MUS listening sessions at UMW Sept. 15

Montana University System Commissioner of Higher Education Sheila Stearns and Regent Angela McLean will be on the University of Montana Western campus on Thursday, Sept. 15 for two listening sessions. UMW NEWS BUREAU Montana University System Commissioner of Higher Education Sheila Stearns and Regent Angela McLean will be on the University of Montana Western campus on Thursday, Sept. 15 for two listening sessions. The two sessions are being held as part of the Montana University System Planning for the Changes Ahead 2012-2013 Listening Tour. Commissioner Stearns and Regent McLean will hold a community listening session from 3 to 3:45 p.m. and a faculty and staff session from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Montana Western Great Room located in the upper level of the Swysgood Technology Center (STC). Commissioner Stearns also served as Montana Western’s chancellor from 1993 to 1999. Regent McLean is a Montana Western alumna. Commissioner Stearns will be retiring from her position in spring 2012. While the faculty and staff session will focus on general higher education issues, the second session will focus on the appointment of the next commissioner and what qualities and skills citizens feel are important in choosing a new commissioner.
