Geology 226
Rocks and Monerals

The Rocks, Minerals and Resources (Geology 226) class includes several local and regional field trips. The photos on this page were taken during the Spring 2006 field trip to the Ruby Mountains in southwest Montana. Late Archean and early Proterozoic metamorphic and igneous rocks here are northwestern exposures of the Wyoming Province, part of the ancient North American basement.
