The University of Montana Western Dances with Words fall 2012 series will begin on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. with professors and authors Georgia Tiffany and Ron McFarland of Moscow, Idaho.
Tiffany has published poems in South Dakota Review, The Malahat Review, Willow Springs, Orbis, Poetry Ireland, Fugue, North Dakota Quarterly and Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review, among other publications. She lives in Spokane, Wash. and teaches world literature and philosophy, humanities and creative writing. Tiffany is also a teacher-consultant with the Northwest Inland Writing Project at the University of Idaho.
A poet and literary critic, McFarland teaches literature and creative writing at the University of Idaho. He is the author of "Subtle Thieves," "The Long Life of Evangeline: A History of the Longfellow Poem in Print, in Adaptation and in Popular Culture" and "The Rockies in First Person."
The readings begin at 7:30 p.m. in The Cup coffee shop located on the lower level of the Swysgood Technology Center (STC) on the Montana Western campus.
