The University of Montana Western, Humanities Montana and the National Endowment for the Humanities present Heritage Dance on Sunday, March 3 beginning at 2 p.m. in the Beier Auditorium on the UMW campus.
This special event is a one-day celebration of dance traditions focused on multicultural understanding and awareness. Participants are welcomed to present demonstrations, workshops, exhibits and performances. This is an educational event for all ages and is free of charge.
To date, American vaudeville and tap/jazz forms, Polynesian, Native American, Irish and American Appalachian cultures will be represented. The event will also include a demonstration by the Tiernan Dancers with Dublin Gulch.
Heritage Dance will be held in the Beier Auditorium on the Montana Western campus and is sponsored by the University of Montana Western with a grant from Humanities Montana. Call Judy Ulrich at (406) 683-7011 for more information.
