Helix vice president to speak at Montana Western

The University of Montana Western business department will host Helix Business Solutions vice president Travis Cottom on Dec. 4.

cottomTravis Cottom, a UMW alum, is the vice president at Helix Business Solutions.Cottom will present at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4,  in the Lewis and Clark Room in Mathews Hall on the UMW campus. The presentation is open to the public.

Cottom received his education at the University of Montana Western and after graduation began his software consulting career at RightNow Technologies in Bozeman, Mont., before joining Helix Business Solutions in August 2013 to lead their existing customer practice and Helix's growth in Montana. 

Helix Business Solutions recently announced its expansion into Southwest Montana with a western office in downtown Dillon. In the last five years, Helix has experienced a 45 percent growth.

Cottom, a Dillon native, grew up on a family farming operation and looks forward to being a part of the Dillon community once again. Cottom plans to partner with Montana Western to provide new opportunities for students and graduates.

“We’re officially moving in,” Cottom said in a press release announcing the Dillon office. “Not only are we moving in, but we’re doing it in a big way. We’re hiring some of the most qualified and hardworking associates the industry has to offer, and we’re also working with Montana Universities, specifically the University of Montana Western, to continue our growth.”
