By Wally Feldt Missoula author Robert Stubblefield will be featured at the next installment of the University of Montana Western’s Dances with Words series. Stubblefield, who is an adjunct assistant professor of English at The University of Montana, will read on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in The Cup, the university’s coffee shop located on the lower level of the Swysgood Technology Center. Stubblefield is an author of fiction and personal essays. His story “Preserves” is set to be included in the forthcoming "Best American Stories of the West," published by Forge Books. Stubblefield is the recipient of the George and Anne Borchardt Scholarship from the Sewannee Writer’s Conference, a Fishtrap Fellowship and an Imnaha Writers Retreat Fellowship. Montana Western’s English department sponsors the Dances with Words series, which features visiting writers and poets. The series is funded by the university and local patrons. The fall series received additional support through a $1,000 “Opportunity Grant” from Humanities Montana.
