Four athletes from the University of Montana Western equestrian team competed at the Intercollegiate National Horse Show in Raleigh, N.C. May 3-6. By Lowell Peterson Four athletes from the University of Montana Western equestrian team competed at the Intercollegiate National Horse Show in Raleigh, N.C. May 3-6. Approximately 10,000 athletes from across the nation compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, but only 400 of those riders qualify for nationals. Montana Western's Amanda Gelderman, George Lawson, Jordan Fuller and Bryne Kilgore got the opportunity to display their skills and show the quality of the Montana Western equestrian program on the national stage. Gelderman placed 16th in the Cacchione Cup class and followed up with an 11th place finish in the individual open over fences class. Lawson placed 12th in individual intermediate horsemanship. Fuller placed 11th in individual novice horsemanship and Kilgore placed 11th in advanced horsemanship.
