The University of Montana Western Bulldogs women’s basketball team announced the signing of Kellie Miller, a 6’ wing/power forward from Chandler, Ariz., to a Frontier Conference/NAIA Letter of Intent.
Miller will be entering the University of Montana Western as a sophomore transfer next season. She will transfer from nationally ranked Pima College in Tucson, Ariz. Pima College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Todd Holthaus said Miller will be a tremendous asset to Montana Western.
“Kellie is very athletic, a quick jumper, long and a great outside shooter beyond the arch,” Holthaus said. “With her height, length and athletic ability, she can play inside or out.”
Miller played four years of basketball at Class 5A1 for Chandler Basha High School in Chandler, Ariz. where she was a three-year letter winner. Miller was also a member of the varsity cross country team for two years. Miller brings a wealth of ability, having played in the top high school region in Arizona. Currently, she is nationally ranked year in and year out at Pima College. Also a talented student, her current GPA is 3.4 and she will earn her associate’s degree in business administration in Spring 2013.
“I chose Montana Western because, from my visits seeing my brother when I was there, I know it will be a good fit for me,” Miller said. “Also, the block schedule will help me manage my time.”
Miller is the sister of current Montana Western player Tyler Miller and the daughter of Carol Barnes Miller (a Dillon native) and Brian Miller. She plans to major in business administration at Montana Western.
