The University of Montana Western Fine Arts Department will present six holiday performances of “Little Women” on Thursday, Nov. 29 through Sunday, Dec. 2 in the Small Auditorium on the Montana Western campus.
The play is based on the two-volume 1868 and 1869 novel by Louisa May Alcott and is adapted for the stage by Sara Spencer. The story, set in New England in 1863, portrays four teenage sisters overcoming personal adversity in the absence of their father, who is serving as an army chaplain in the Civil War.
University of Montana Western Professor of Fine Arts Judy Ulrich will direct all performances.
There will be two performances on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Weekend performances will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30; at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1; and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2.
A holiday tea with the actors will follow all performances.
Tickets will be available at the door and are $5 for adults and $2 for students with a valid I.D. Pre-sale tickets are available by calling (406) 683-7422.
The Small Auditorium is located in Main Hall Room 314, 710 South Atlantic Street, Dillon, Mont.
