By Wally Feldt Alecia Wilson., a 6-foot-1-inch point guard from Helena, Mont, has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Montana Western according to new women’s head coach Cara Cocchiarella. Wilson averaged six points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals in her senior season. She set school records for assists in a game, a season and a career. In her junior season, she recorded 155 assists including 12 in one game. "Alecia was a very respected and highly successful point guard in high school,” Cocchiarella said. “She brings great size and length to her position and sees the floor extremely well. We are excited about the impact that a player like Alecia will have on our program." In addition to basketball, she also participated in soccer and softball. Wilson graduated this spring from Capital High School and is the daughter of Maureen Doubek and Gerard Wilson. She will major in business.
