By Wally Feldt Austin Mailey, a 6-foot-1 guard from Twin Bridges, Mont., signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Montana Western, head coach Steve Keller announced today. Mailey is a 2009 graduate of Twin Bridges High School where he was a member of their 2009 Class C state championship team. He is a three-time all-conference selection and a two-time all-state selection. Mailey averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game. He was also selected to play in the Crowne Plaza All-State tournament. “We are pleased that Austin has joined our program at Montana Western,” Keller said. “Austin sat out last year and has got a lot stronger and more athletic. He has improved his game immensely.” Mailey, the son of Bo and Lisa Mailey, will major in business education. Mailey’s high school coach was Montana Western graduate Neil Christiaens.
