On the Rocks features UMW students and professors

The second On the Rocks science speaker series event of the fall will feature professor and student presentations from the Geology of the American West and Camp Cooking classes at the University of Montana Western. The presentations will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 in UMW’s Block Hall Room 311. [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="240" caption="Alberta Badlands, Dinosaur Provincial Park"]Badlands-us[/caption] The second On the Rocks science speaker series event of the fall will feature professor and student presentations from the Geology of the American West and Camp Cooking classes at the University of Montana Western. The presentations will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 in UMW’s Block Hall Room 311. During Block 1 of the fall 2010 semester, professors Sheila Roberts and Richard Clark took their classes on a tour through Alberta, British Colombia and parts of western Montana. The photo-illustrated presentations will recount their tour, which included visits to Dinosaur Provincial Park, the Athabasca Glacier, the Rocky Mountain Trench, Kootenai Falls and more. Speakers in order of appearance will be professors Roberts and Clark and students Tammie Laverdure, William Newton, Christi Lorang, Tom Caffrey, Adam Jensen, and Gary Webb.
