UMW NEWS BUREAU The University of Montana Western’s Polynesian Club is hosting the fifth annual spring luau on Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the Keltz Arena. The Polynesian Club is comprised of many south Pacific ethnicities, and the luau will feature authentic dance from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Hawaii, New Zealand, Samoa, Tahiti, and Tonga. Using the club as a connection to their culture and a source of family and a home away from home, members stay active in the community through many volunteer activities throughout the year. The Polynesian Club performs across Montana, but they always hold their main event of the year in Dillon. This year’s luau, Sounds of the Pacific, will feature an authentic Hawaiian door prizes, dinner, live music, and dance performances. The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. for the 5:50 p.m. dinner and they will re-open at 6:45 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. Dinner and show tickets are $30 for students and $40 for non-students. Table tickets for the dinner and show are $300 for a table of eight and a premier table of eight is $400. Show tickets are only for a $10 for students and $20 for non-students.
