The successful candidate will be responsible for field experience placements, including student teaching as well as shorter field experiences associated with courses throughout the P-12 curriculum. In addition to securing excellent field experience placements, the coordinator is responsible for impeccable communication with school partners, mentor teachers and University supervisors. The field experience coordinator will identify and train University supervisors and track evaluation data for student teachers. The Field Experience Coordinator will report directly to the Division Chair of Education. In addition, the Field Experience Coordinator will be the licensing officer for the University of Montana Western and be responsible for communicating all Montana (and adjacent states) licensing requirements and changes to the education faculty.
A Master’s Degree in Education
Three or more years successful teaching in K12 schools
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work well with students and faculty
Knowledge of emerging trends in teaching and practice, including national and state initiatives
Strong knowledge of Montana teacher licensing regulations
Earned Doctorate in Education
Previous success in college instruction
Previous experience in field experience placements/licensure
