Phlebotomy Training coming March 31st

STEM Scholarship Opportunity for Current Freshmen Students.

The Horatio Alger Association is pleased to announce that its Honeywell scholarship program for students studying in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) at both Honeywell partner schools and Horatio Alger Collegiate Partner institutions is once again available.

The program will be awarding 10 scholarships at $10,000 each to students pursuing STEM degrees who have critical financial need ($55,000 or less family income) and who are current freshmen who have successfully completed their first fall semester.

Students from the University of Montana Western that meet eligibility can apply. The online application is currently open on and will close March 15, 2017.

Eligibility:
The students selected for the Horatio Alger Honeywell Scholarship will exhibit the following characteristics:
• Attendance at a Honeywell Partner School or Horatio Alger Collegiate Partner institution and have
completed one semester in freshman year (entering sophomore year in Fall 2017)
• Pursuit of a degree in a STEM field
• Critical financial need ($55,000 or less family income)
• Integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
• Academic achievement (minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.0 for consideration)
• United States citizenship

Legacy Plaza Bricks available for purchase

The UMW Foundation will be placing newly engraved bricks in Legacy Plaza before commencement in May. If you are interested in purchasing a legacy brick, contact the Foundation at 683-7305. Brick orders need to be received before March 31, 2017 in order to be placed this spring. All proceeds from brick sales benefit the university.
