Tess Turk posted a 3.2 second breakaway run in the final round of the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) to earn fourth place in the nation.
All but two athletes have completed their preliminary rounds at the CNFR leaving Coach Olie Else and the University of Montana Western rodeo team to wait as the remaining contestants determine who will advance to the short go.
Tristan Hansen, all-around hand from Victor, Idaho was the first Bulldog to put himself in position for the short round competition at the College National Finals Rodeo. Tess Turk, of Elko, Nev. recorded her third solid breakaway run moments later to place herself on the short go list as well.
Tristan Hansen, the Big Sky Region All-around champion cowboy, notched a second straight 72 point ride Tuesday at the College National Finals Rodeo. Women’s team leader Tess Turk threw down a 2.5 second breakaway run to place in a tie for fourth in the round and take the lead in the average.
CASPER, Wyo., June 13, 2016 – Junior Tess Turk of Elko, Nev. threw down fast times in both the breakaway and goat tying events to lead the University of Montana Western at the 2016 College National Finals Rodeo.

The Fall rodeo season came to a close in Dillon this past weekend.
The men's team holds the top spot in the Big Sky Region and the women are in second.
CODY, Wyo., September 15th, 2015 – The University of Montana Western men's and women's rodeo teams found success in their first two college rodeo of the season. The Bulldogs competed in the Northwest College rodeo that took place in Cody, Wyo. over the weekend and did not disappoint with their performances.
