The university is seeking an individual who will take an active role in the leadership of the campus and guide the advancement of Montana Western and its experiential-learning mission of using the innovative block scheduling system, known as Experience One.
The Montana Western chancellor reports directly to the president of the University of Montana.

Montana Western is a small (1,399 FTE) public institution with baccalaureate degrees in elementary and secondary education as well as liberal arts degrees with a variety of interdisciplinary emphases. The campus is located in the town of Dillon in the scenic Beaverhead Valley of southwestern Montana. Montana Western is currently in the process of reviewing its academic offerings and seeks to attract a stable FTE of around 1,500 students.
