UMW News Bureau

Montana Western is the only public, four-year institution that offers classes on block scheduling. Students at Montana Western take one class at a time, three hours a day for 18 days. We call this unique scheduling system Experience One (X1) because it lets students experience one class at a time. Experience One offers hands-on education and learning by doing. The University of Montana Western was founded in 1893 as a normal college. It is now fully accredited and offers both two year and four year degrees and several certificate programs. Students gain an education in a unique way in a beautiful learning environment at Montana Western.
