Montana Western art faculty exhibit their work

Stop by the Montana Western Art Gallery and Museum to see what Montana Western art faculty have been up to. UMW-GalleryCurrent and former art faculty at the University of Montana Western will exhibit their own artistic accomplishments at the annual Art Faculty Exhibit through Feb. 13 at the university’s Gallery/Museum. This year's exhibit includes work by Jim Corr, Randy Horst, Eva Mastandrea and Nolan Salix. A reception for the artists is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The reception is scheduled to coincide with the Southwest Montana Arts Council Showcase Series performance that evening by An Dóchas and the Haran Irish Dancers.  Corr is exhibiting a new group of oil paintings; Horst’s work includes drawings focusing on the Christian martyr Saint Sebastian; Mastandrea is showing new encaustic paintings, a process that mixes paint with wax; and Salix has included paintings, drawings and prints of the industrial landscape of the west. The Art Gallery/Museum can be found at the south end of the first floor of Main Hall on the Montana Western campus. Gallery times are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. To arrange for special times or visits call the director at (406) 683-7232.  New works by Bozeman artist Harold Schlotzhauer will be the next exhibit beginning Feb. 23.
