UMW News BureauThe opportunity to "loaf around" begins Wednesday, Sept. 16 with "The Art of Breadmaking." By Wally Feldt The Art of Breadmaking promises to be a fun and delicious non-credit class at the University of Montana Western during the 2009 fall semester. The class meets Wednesdays, Sept. 16 and 30 and Oct. 14 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Montana Western cafeteria. The class is designed to promote the art and science of bread making. Participants will learn the purpose of the ingredients, the mixing and kneading process and baking of yeast breads. Participants will gain practical experience using various recipes, shapes and types of yeast bread as well learn how to troubleshoot common baking problems. There is a fee of $100 and instruction is provided by Kim Nye.
