The start of the 2009/2010 school year here at Montana Western brings with it new faces to our great group of faculty. We our proud to introduce the first three profiles of new Montana Western professors.

The start of the 2009/2010 school year here at Montana Western brings with it new faces to our great group of faculty. We our proud to introduce the first three profiles of new Montana Western professors:

Tiffany Bourelle is a new addition to the Montana Western English department teaching English and writing. She is a native of Fayetteville, Tenn. Bourelle received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in 2001, her master’s degree from Northern Arizona University in 2004 and her Ph.D from the University of Nevada-Reno in 2009. Tiffany says she saw her writing change and grow with help from her professors and wants to be the same type of influence on her students.

Layne Carlson is the newest member of the equine sciences department. He received a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 1979. Carlson has been a mixed-animal practitioner for the past 30 years in Idaho and Montana. He recently sold his practice in Twin Bridges, Mont., which he started in 1983. Carlson teaches a variety of classes and says he enjoys the challenge of the classroom.

Cara Cocchiarella is the new women’s basketball coach and an instructor in the health and human performances (HHP) department. A native of Missoula, Mont., Cocchiarella received her bachelor of arts in Spanish and HHP in 2002 and her master of science in HHP in 2008, both from the University of Montana-Missoula. Cocchiarella says she has always been interested in the health and medical fields, but it was through coaching that she realized her passion for education. Cocchiarella teaches lifespan fitness methods and officiating.
