By Lowell Peterson Montana Western head men’s basketball coach Steve Keller announced the signing of three players to Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent. Andrew Elliott, a 6’2” guard/forward, comes to Montana Western from the Belgrade High Panthers in Belgrade, Mont. Trent Burton, a 6’0” guard, joins the Bulldogs after playing for the Stillwater Christian Cougars in Kalispell, Mont. Alexander Duroche, a 6’9” forward/center, will come to Dillon after playing for the Whitefish High Bulldogs in Whitefish, Mont. In the 2010-11 season Elliott averaged 12.7 points per game. He shot 45 percent on his field goal attempts, 30 percent from beyond the three-point line and 66 percent from the free throw line. Elliott also averaged 5.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Elliott was an all-conference selection in both his junior and senior seasons. Elliott also competed in high school football. He is the son of Jeff and Dori Elliott and plans to major in elementary education at Montana Western. Burton averaged 14.6 points a game in the 2010-11 season. He shot 48 percent on his field goal attempts and 61 percent from the free throw line. Burton also averaged 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 steals per game. Burton was the team captain his senior year and was named to the First Team All-State basketball team in the Montana Christian Athletic Association. He is the son of Dennis and Jeannette Burton and plans to major in business and finance at Montana Western. Duroche averaged six points and five rebounds per game during the 2010-2011 season. He shot 43 percent from the field and 52 percent from the free throw line. Duroche also averaged two assists and one steal per game. He also competed in football, track and baseball. He is the son of Bryan and Cinthia Duroche and has not yet declared a major.
