Bulldog Football Adds Five

Five student athletes have signed Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent to play football for the University of Montana Western according to head coach Tommy Lee.

“Sione Anitoni is a 5’10”, 230 lb. linebacker from Kearns, Utah. He earned All-Region and All-State honors. In his senior year, he recorded 69 unassisted tackles, 26 assisted tackles and 2.5 quarterback sacks. Anitoni is undecided on his major at Western. He will graduate this spring from is the son of Kalisitiane and Nanise Anitoni.

Trent Harrison is a 6’2”, 200 lb quarterback from Middleton, Idaho. Harrison. In his senior year, he was 42 of 96 passing for 702 yards and six touchdowns. He had 91 carries for 654 yards and caught eight passes for 46 yards. Harrison earned All-Conference honors and was selected the conference Most Valuable Player after his senior season. He also participates in baseball where he earned All-Conference honors. Harrison will graduate this spring from Middleton High School and plans to major in education. He is the son of Brent and Shawn Harrison.

Christopher L. Hinkley is a 6’2”, 235 lb nose guard from Fallon, Nev. In his senior season, he recorded 15 unassisted tackles and 32 assisted tackles. From the classroom, he maintains a 3.5 GPA and was an academic letterman. Hinkley will graduate this spring from Churchill County High School and plans to major in wildlife biology. He is the son of Loyd and Nelda Hinkey.

Rhett Jones is a 5’10”, 215 lb offensive lineman from Rupert, Idaho. He earned All-Conference honors and was named “Special Team Player of the Year.” In addition to football, he also participated in wrestling. Jones will graduate this spring from Minico High School and will major in secondary education. He is the son of Ron and Tammy Jones.

Trent Mallory is a 6’6”, 215 lb defensive lineman from Rupert, Idaho. He earned All-Conference honors. In addition to football, he also participates in track. Mallory is the son of Brent and Tammy Mallory.

“This is a group of outstanding student athletes,” said Lee. “They will have a positive impact on our football program. We are looking forward to having them join the Bulldog family in August.”

Bulldog Football Signs Three Montana Prep Stars

University of Montana Western head football coach Tommy Lee announced the signing of three Montana prep stars to Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent.

Tony Cunneen is a 6’0”, 172 lb, wide receiver from Butte High School of Butte, Mont. Cunneen earned All-Conference and All-State honors as a wide receiver and All-Conference honors as a defensive back. He led Butte High in receiving yards with 420 on 14 catches with two touchdowns. Defensively, he had two interceptions with one returned for a touchdown.

“Tony brings our program a shining star from Butte Montana,” said recruiting coordinator Travis Domser. “We are very excited about his potential on the field. His speed and size is a perfect match for our offensive style. We are excited for Tony's future in our program. We have had some great players from Butte High School and we feel that Tony can continue the Butte High success here at Montana Western.”

Cunneen also participates in basketball and track. He earned All-Conference and All-State honors in track and received the Bob O’Malley Track Award. He is the son of Bill and Shelly Cunneen and plans to major in business. Cunneen will graduate this spring from Butte High School.

Josh Marsh is a 6’6”, 285 lb offensive tackle from Flathead County High School of Kalispell, Mont. He earned All-Conference honors for the Braves. Flathead averaged 347 yards on offense, 97.9 yards rushing and 249.9 yards passing.

“Josh is a very good offensive lineman from Kalispell,” said Domser. At 6'6 285 pounds Josh has great ability for his size, and will be a great blocker down the road. Josh is a young senior and we are excited to watch him grow in our system.”

Marsh will graduate this spring from Flathead High School. He is the son of Jay and Tonya Marsh.

Coltin Weber is a 6’3”, 210 lb linebacker from Flathead High School of Kalispell, Mont. He earned All-Conference and All-State honors and was named his team’s Defensive Most Valuable player. He led his team in defensive points and tackles (64 unassisted, 62 assisted). Weber was selected to play in both the Montana East-West Shrine All-Star game and the Mon-Dak All-Star game.

“Coltin will be a great fit into our football program,” added Domser. “He is a great defensive player with size and speed from a tough conference in Montana. Coltin was one of our priority guys this year in recruiting, and we are very happy to have him and his family involved in our school and football program.”

Weber also participated in basketball and track at Flathead. From the classroom, he was selected to the honor roll and was the recipient of the U.S. Achievement Academy All-American Scholar Award.

He is the son of Ed and Bonnie Weber and plans to major in wildlife biology with a minor in education. He will graduate this spring from Flathead High School.
