Casey Duschanek of Dillon and Marcus Erickson of Helena, have signed Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent to play golf for the University of Montana-Western, according to head coach Mark Durham.
Duschanek, a six handicapper, is a 2003 graduate of Beaverhead County High School. He played on the 2002 Class A State Championship team and was a three-time junior champion at the Beaverhead Golf Course. Duschanek earned an Associates Degree from the Golf Academy of Arizona.
“Casey was at a golf school where he really got a chance to soak in a total golf atmosphere,” said Durham. “I think his maturity will help him be a pretty good golfer for us.”
Duschanek plans to major in tourism and recreation at Western. He is the son of Barry and Jackie Duschanek.
Erickson is a 2001 graduate of Helena High School where he was named the “Most Improved Golfer.” He also earned an Associates Degree from the Golf Academy of Arizona. Erickson carries a five handicap.
“Marcus was a “AA” golfer who played against some very good golfers during his high school career,” added Durham. “He attended the same golf school and that experience will really pay off when we start in the fall.”
Erickson plans to major in business administration at Western. He is the son of Ed and Linda Simmons and Ron Erickson.
