That started an 11-0 Bulldog run and a lead they would never lose. Western led at the half 51-40.
The Bulldogs maintained control in the second half as they maintained a double-digit lead for most of the final 20 minutes. Western answered every Rocky charge with a great defensive stand or answer basket. Rocky could get no closer than nine points.

Bulldogs Face Rocky in First Round of Conference Tourney
Wednesday, March 2 2005
The Bulldogs faces Rocky Mountain College in the first round of the Frontier Conference Tournament on Thursday, March 3. Tip-off is 8:00 p.m. from the Maroon Activity Center in Butte.
The Bulldogs, the tourney's #4 seed finished the regular season with an 18-12 overall record and 7-7 in the Frontier. Western tied with Rocky in the regular season, but won a coin-toss to earn the higher seed.
Rocky, the #5 seed, finished with an identical overall record of 18-12 and 7-7 in league play.
The two teams split their regular season series with both winning on their home court. The Bulldogs won in Dillon 85-69 while the Bears won in Billings 80-90.
"The matchup with Rocky should be a good one,” said Bulldog coach Mark Durham. “We split with each other during the season and lost to the same teams. We need to keep them off of the offensive boards. They really hurt us at their place with their aggressive rebounding. We will have to change our offense a bit without Bo in the lineup.”
David Ellis leads Rocky in scoring with 14.4 ppg followed by Luke Kunkel with 13.3. Kunkel leads the league and is third in the nation in field goal percentage with 62,5%. Rocky is third in the league in scoring while giving up 70.7 ppg.
Matt Luedtke leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 22.8 points per game. Also scoring in double figures is Tyler Palmer with 14.1 points per game. Western's second leading scorer and top rebounder, Bo Segeberg was injured the past Friday in Westminster Game and will not play in the tourney. The Bulldogs lead the league in scoring with 84.6 points a game but are last in the league in scoring defense, giving up 80.5 points a game.
The winner of the Western-Rocky game will play the winner of the Carroll-Montana Tech first round game.
