Bozeman Star to Play Basketball at Montana Western

Jesse Hildreth, a 6-5 forward from Bozeman, Mont., has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Montana Western according to head coach Mark Durham.
Hildreth averaged 6.8 points and seven rebounds per game last year. He earned All-Conference honors and was named to the All-Tournament team at the 2006 Montana AA State Tournament. Hildreth was chosen the ‘MVP’ of the Sheraton Classic.
“Jesse has good size and will be a good force for us inside,” said Durham. “He is a great kid with a tremendous work ethic.”
From the classroom, he earned Academic All-State honors. Hildreth is a 2006 graduate of Bozeman Senior High School. He is the son of Craig and Rhonda Hildreth.

Montana Prep Star Signs With Bulldogs

Andrew Steven Harrell, a 6-6 forward from Kalispell, has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Montana Western, according to head coach Mark Durham.
Harrell is a 2006 graduate of Stillwater Christian School of Kalispell. In this past season, he averaged 15.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.8 steals. Harrell earned All-State honors and was selected MVP of the MCAA State Tournament. He hit a career high 45 points in a game in February.
“Andy is a very good high school player,” said Durham. “He has been to our summer camp and he has improved every year. We like how Andy handles the ball!’
From the classroom, he was selected to the High Honor Roll and received the Distinguished Christian High School Student Award.”
Harrell is the son of Steve and Nancy Harrell and plans to major in secondary education at Montana Western.

Bulldog Signs Valier Hoop Star

Kyle Jannusch, a 6-2 guard from Valier, Mont., has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Montana Western, according to head coach Mark Durham.
Jannusch averaged 17.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, five assists and three steals. He earned All-Conference honors and was selected as his team ‘MVP’. Jannusch also received team awards for rebounding, free throw percentage and defense.
“Kyle is a very solid player,” said Durham. “He has good size for a guard and has excellent ‘court-sense’.”
From the classroom, he was selected to the Honor Roll and earned Academic All-State honors.
Jannusch is undecided on his major at Western. He is a 2006 graduate of Valier High School and the son of Neil and Cheryl Jannusch.

Bulldogs Sign Ronan's Pitts

Zachary Pitts, a 6-0 point guard from Ronan, Montana, has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Montana Western, according to head coach Mark Durham. Pitts, a graduate of Ronan High School, transfers to Montana Western from Carroll College.
Pitts earned All-Conference and All-State honors at Ronan. He finished his prep career as Ronan’s All-Time leading scorer with 1184 points. Pitts played in the Montana-Wyoming All-Star game. In addition to basketball, he also participated in track and cross-country.
“Zach is going to be a good player.” said Durham. “He plays with a lot of confidence and will fit in nicely in our program. Because he served a church mission, he is a little older then the rest of the guys, and that age difference will be an asset.”
From the classroom, Pitts was the Valedictorian of his graduating class. At Carroll, he was selected to the Dean’s List.
Pitts will major in business administration at Montana Western. He is the son of Terry and Crystal Pitts.

Bulldogs Sign Butte Central Star

Shaughn McKeon, a 5-9 point guard from Butte, Mont., has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Montana Western, according to head coach Mark Durham.
McKeon earned All-Conference and All-State honors and was selected the Most Valuable Player of the Central A Conference as a senior. McKeon was also selected to play in the Radisson Basketball Tournament. As a junior, he earned All-Conference honors and All-State honors and was selected as the MVP of the Central A Divisional Tournament.
“Shaughn is a very solid point guard,” Durham said. “He is scrappy and can knock down the ‘3’! He just loves the game and knows about from every angle. He is going to be great addition to our program.”
He also participated in football where he earned All-Conference and All-State honors. In track, he earned All-Conference honors.
From the classroom, he maintained a 3.3 GPA and earned Academic All-State honors in both basketball and football.
He is a 2006 graduate of Butte Central High School and the son of Tim and Helen McKeon.

Bulldogs Sign St. Ignatius Star

Gus McDonald, a 6-1, 185 lb guard from St. Ignatius, has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Montana Western, according to head coach Mark Durham.
McDonald averaged 20.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and four steals. He earned All-Conference and All-State honors and was selected to play in the Montana-Wyoming All-Star game. McDonald was selected to the basketball All-Star team at the North American Indegenous Games in Denver, Colo.
“Gus can really score!” said Durham. “He has the natural ability to put the ball in the hoop. Gus is one of the top Montana players this year and we are very excited that he will be a Bulldog!”
In addition to basketball, he also participated in football, where he earned All-Conference and All-State honors and track.
From the classroom, he earned Academic All-State honors. McDonald will major in communications at Montana Western.
